Hi Maddie , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.I started off in 2023 with a blog www.MyGirlLife.com. The motto for My Girl Life is “A place where crossdressers, trans girls and everyone in between come together to learn, share stories, empower one another and mitigate transphobia by building a bridge with the mainstream community” I wanted a safe space for the community and a place where I could share my thoughts on things that would be interesting or helpful for the LGBTQ community.
I then decided to do a podcast in addition to the website and blog in 2024 which is called My Girl Life Podcast. I interview people in the trans community and they share their stories which have become very inspirational and therapeutic for the trans community. I also interview the spouses/partners of some of these trans individuals in order to get their perspective on having their partner come out as trans or crossdresser which has become some of the more popular episodes. I’ve released 47 episodes which are available on all podcast platforms as well as video version that is on YouTube.
Lastly, I’m a songwriter and wrote a song which has turned into an anthem for the community called Be Bold – Be Kind – Be You. it was played for 200K attendees of the palm Spring Pride a couple of weeks ago.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect? It’s been pretty smooth actually. The hardest part was learning what technology is needed to record video podcasts, edit them, post them on popular platforms and then of course promotion. I was fortunate to have a few thousands followers on social media and YouTube has been where all the action is as my episodes get into the algorithm and expose the contact to thousands of people that would not have been exposed to it. I get about 30-40K views each month!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?I definitely have a creative mind and need outlets for such. I’m a songwriter and producer and use those skills to express myself through music. Like I mentioned before, I wrote a song called Be Bold – Be Kind – Be You which has become an anthem for the LGBTQ community and really applies to marginalized individuals. The song will be released on all streaming services on 12/19/25. I also have a lyric video posted on YouTube now (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4293WQgCgU). The website and podcast give me another creative outlet which I love and have received so much support…it’s really heartwarming. Fox31 here in Denver gave me their Do-Gooder award earlier this year which was very cool!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?I grew up in Denver and went to school through college in Denver and Greeley respectively. What I love is the weather as we get all four seasons so just when I’m tired of the hot summers, fall comes around and it’s just beautiful here in the fall. I’m not a big fan of winters and snow but for a winter city, Colorado really isn’t that bad and we really don’t have any recurring destructive weather patterns like a lot of other parts of the country. I love the views of the mountains as well. Lastly, Denver is a big city with all the opportunities for business and leisure yet not a huge fragmented city like LA or NY and many others. I lived in LA for 13 years (1990-2003) and loved living there until we had kids and it just did not offer much of a community feel. LA is where I studies songwriting at UCLA and became the Pro Membership Director for the National Academy of Songwriters where I met and wrote songs with many chart topping songwriters. I also started my record label Chartmaker Records and have resurrected it now that I can use AI to produce my songs!
